Current Ministries – Who are our neighbors?

We currently offer our support for congregation members and our neighbors including the following:

Mission Trips

Each year a team of youth and adults travels to other areas to offer assistance in Christ’s name to people who need help.  Past projects have been in communities rebuilding from natural disasters, in rural areas with poverty and substandard housing, and in inner cities addressing hunger and homelessness.

Tiny Free Pantry

Our congregation members, with the help of the community, stock a pantry on Church Street where anyone is invited to “Take what you need. Leave what you can.”   We have been heartened by the support of our community in filling the pantry.

So Others May Eat (S.O.M.E.)

On the second Sunday of each month, a lunch of wholesome food is provided in the fellowship hall for anyone who would like to eat with us. We coordinate with other downtown churches so that a free community lunch and fellowship are available downtown every Sunday.

Addressing Homelessness

We provide space in our basement for an emergency men’s shelter operated by Community Partners of Hope (CPOH), an ecumenical ministry. CPOH also provides transitional housing at Hope House, to help men move from homelessness to stable housing.
