We arrived safely at 4:30 at Eagle Ranch. No one was lost and no one was injured. The ranch is nestled in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains. The boys are stationed in two cabins while the girls are bunked in one large room. Tomorrow we will raft down the river. Check back in for our news about our adventures!
Monday found us in the river. A few of us ended up in the river on purpose, a couple ended up in the river by accident, but all ended up soaking wet! The day ended with Fred singing "Rocky Top." It was a great day! Tomorrow we will be climbing on the wall. Check back in and see how we did.
On Tuesday we met and conquered our fears. We also learned that we could accomplish more by listening to others and working together. Starting Wednesday we will take all that we have learned this week and apply it to helping others. Tomorrow we paint!
On Wednesday we learned about others. We learned about those who are not as fortunate as us. We learned about those who cannot do for themselves. We learned that what those people really appreciate is someone who will visit with them. While we were learning, we painted.
Thursday was spent visiting elderly people in a few homes. We sang songs with them and performed the Lords Prayer with sign language. We were able to experience many great conversations and a harmonica performance by a 98 year old lady.
On Friday, we cleaned up an old cemetery. This cemetery has been neglected for years. Once it is cleaned up the community will make it a historic monument and make sure it stays neat.
We will leave early Saturday for the trip back. We hope to be back in Henderson by 5:00 pm. We will see you all then!
